Dune Coffee
Honduras Santa Barbara Geisha
Honduras Santa Barbara Geisha
APPLE | NECTARINE | HIBISCUS
Dune works with a number of coffee producers that farm the Santa Barbara mountain in Honduras. The mountain overlooks Lake Yojoa, and climbs all the way up into the fog for unique microclimates for growing coffee.
Through Beneficio San Vicente, the milling and exporting operation of Benjamin Paz, multiple smallholder producers have begun planting the Geisha variety on their farms. Because Geisha can be lower yielding than other varieties, oftentimes producers may not have enough to take to market by themselves. Thanks to San Vicente, we're able to combine the work of these producers and create an exportable lot, and share the work of these producers.
In the cup, we find soft apple and nectarine flavors, and a floral hibiscus quality that recalls the elevation and Geisha variety grown in this terroir.
