Dune Coffee
Kenya Kirimahiga
Kenya Kirimahiga
GRAPE | ORANGE | VANILLA
The Kirimahiga factory is operated by the New Kiriti Farmers Cooperative Society, which prides itself on selective hand picking of coffee cherries. Here, over 700 smallholder farmers grow coffee in volcanic soils at elevations of 1700 meters above sea level.
Immediately after harvesting, cherries are delivered for sorting and pulping, utilizing fresh water from the Gondo river. The coffee is then sun dried after fermentation has taken place, and delivered to the dry mill for processing.
In the cup, we taste classic Kenya flavors with a vibrant acidity that reminds us of grape and orange, as well as a delicate vanilla aromatic to round out the cup.
