Alexander Vargas started his coffee journey at age 15, following in his parents’ footsteps. At 20, he shifted his focus to specialty coffee production, and he has since spent over 20 years refining his skills and experimenting with various coffee varieties and processes. At his farm, La Piragua, Alexander utilizes advanced techniques such as anaerobic processing for varieties like Pink Bourbon and Geisha, and he has cultivated award-winning coffees that have earned him multiple national Cup of Excellence nominations.

He built a lab on the farm where he cups and classifies every lot himself, and he grows dragon fruit alongside the coffee to keep the land productive year-round. For Alexander, coffee is more than a profession; it’s a passion, and his story is one of persistence, innovation, and deep respect for the tradition he grew up in.

In the cup, we taste sweet cherry contrasted by bright raspberry, with a creamy texture.
