Alexander Vargas started his coffee journey at age 15, following in his parent's footsteps. At 20, he focused on specialty coffee production and has spent over 20 years refining his skills and experimenting with various coffee varieties and processes. At his farm La Piragua, Alexander utilizes advanced techniques such as anaerobic processing for varieties like Pink Bourbon and Geisha, and he has a cultivated award-winning coffees that have earned him multiple national Cup of Excellence nominations.
To ensure quality, Alexander built a coffee laboratory on the farm, where he cups and classifies his coffees. His dedication extends beyond coffee production as he has diversified his crops by growing dragonfruit to maintain farm productivity year-round. For Alexander, coffee farming is more than a profession -- its a passion. His story is one of persistence, innovation, and deep respect for the coffee tradition, all of which have elevated his farm to success.
In the cup, we find sweet stone fruit flavors like cherry, bright raspberry, and a creamy texture.
