Girma Edema owns and operates the Guji Coffee Export PLC, which oversees coffee processing and exporting of coffees in the Guji Zone of Ethiopia. Smallholder producers deliver their coffee in cherry to the Banko Michicha washing station, where the coffees are sorted and dried on raised beds for between 15 to 20 days.

The cherries are turned periodically to ensure even drying, and the coffee is then transported to Addis Ababa to be milled and exported. Girma’s work in particular preserves the coffee from damage, either from moisture inconsistency, transportation, or milling. The result of their work is a sweet and clean naturally processed coffee, preserving the ripe fruit qualities and natural flavors we’ve come to expect from Ethiopian varieties.

Many people who’ve tasted a naturally processed Ethiopian distinctly remember the experience - these are coffees jam-packed full of sweetness, ripe fruit, and incredibly fragrant aromas.
