El Salvador La Cumbre Geisha
El Salvador La Cumbre Geisha
CHERRY | ORANGE | BLACK TEA
Emilio Lopez Diaz is the owner and operator of Odyssey Coffee, who, in 2005, began planting new varieties and expanding his family farms. Emilio’s company, Odyssey Coffees, is a vertically integrated coffee producing organization, meaning that the company oversees their own supply chain from growing to processing to exporting. In 2018, coffee from Emilio’s farm Finca El Manzano took first and second place in El Salvador’s Cup of Excellence competition.
La Cumbre, which means “peak” in Spanish, is the highest block of Emilio’s farm El Manzano. Here, Emilio has been experimenting with different varieties and processing methods.
The Geisha grown at La Cumbre is reminiscent of the unique flavors this variety can possess, with a sweetness and roundness from Emilio's farming and terroir. We taste sweet summer cherry, bright orange, and delicate black tea in the cup.
